New Executive Director Takes Helm at Kymari House, Inc.

Kymari House, Inc. is thrilled to announce the appointment of Emily McKee as its new Executive Director, effective November 13, 2023. With a steadfast commitment to serving children and families facing challenging circumstances, Emily brings over 15 years of experience in this arena. She worked extensively with Family & Children’s Service in Nashville in an array of roles encompassing direct service, crisis intervention and de-escalation, family case management, grants management and fundraising, donor relations, and training staff and community partners throughout the mid-state on child brain development and the impacts of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs).
Educated at Middle Tennessee State University with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and holding her master’s degree in social work (MSSW) from the University of Tennessee, Emily possesses both academic knowledge and practical expertise to address the complex needs of the community effectively.
Kymari House is confident that Emily’s leadership will build upon the organization’s strong foundation and elevate its impact. A lifelong Middle Tennessean, Emily and her spouse reside in Rutherford County with their two children and furry companion, and she brings a deep understanding of the local context and a genuine passion for fostering positive change in the local community.
Kymari House was founded in 2012 to provide supervised visitation, which provides a safe environment and a healthy connection for children separated from one or both of their parents due to safety risks within the home. The organization was named in memory of Kymari Clark, a child who lost his life to child abuse at 16 months old and children like him who needed someone to keep them safe. Kymari House is dedicated to the idea that adults have a responsibility to care for and protect the children in our families and communities, and that those children deserve our very best efforts. The mission of Kymari House is to support healthy families, informed communities, and resilient children.
The Kymari House Board of Directors extends a warm welcome to Emily McKee and looks forward to the continued success and growth of Kymari House, Inc. under her capable leadership.
